Monchiero Winery
In the heart of Barolo country, the Monchiero family's wine story began in the 1950s with brothers Remo and Maggiorino in Castiglione Falletto. Initially grape sellers, they evolved into vintners, bottling the "gold" of Langa - Barolo by the 70s. The 80s saw Vittorio, Maggiorino's son, infuse the family venture with his viticulture education and global ambitions. In the 21st century his sons, Luca and Stefano, joined, ensuring the family's deep-rooted passion for Barolo thrives for generations.

Sommelier
Johnnie is the Sommelier to the stars! He’s a California native and has over 25 years experience in the Los Angeles restaurant industry.
He has earned the second certification from the prestigious Court of Master Sommeliers and is now an advanced candidate. He is able to blend his vast knowledge of wine with an approachable personal style – translating the complex and often elitist world of wine into language that’s simple and straightforward.
He is currently working as the Sommelier for the Mastro Families Steak 48 in Beverly Hills.

Chef
Ilaria is a graduate of the presigious Milan cooking school. She cut her teeth at Uri, , a Korean-Italian restaurant in the Langhe, where she blended local dishes with a Korean influence.
In the summer of 2023 she decided it was time to get away from her homeland and explore new horizons. So, she spent an entire season working for Formel B in Copenhagen. It was a very meaningful and formative experience, but now she’s back and she’ll be our star chef working with Luca and Johnnie to prepare the perfectly paired Piedmont experience.

The Winemaker
In 2017, the Monchiero spotlight turned to Luca Monchiero, the eldest heir to the grape throne. Stefano, his younger brother, follows suit, immersing himself in agricultural sciences. Together, they're set to continue the Monchiero legacy, a story steeped in the rich, velvety hues of Barolo.
Luca's chapter is just beginning, ripe with the promise of blending ancestral wisdom with a fresh perspective. In every bottle, there's not just wine, but a family's history, a journey of grape to glass.
